Rochester Institute of Technology, Combined Heat and Power Plant,
Rochester, NY |
M/E completed design development documents of a project to provide a central heating and cooling plant with 4800 kW of engine driven cogeneration to serve the 3,500,000 SF campus. Two complete years of hourly electrical and natural gas consumption data were evaluated to ensure proper sizing of their projected $52M project. |

Strong Museum - Cogeneration,
Rochester, NY |
M/E, in conjunction with Trane, developed a complete computer model of the existing 165,000 SF plus the proposed 105,000 SF additions to identify potential mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades to the existing structure and optimize the new central plant that serves both the new and the existing Museum. The audit resulted in a new central heating and cooling plant with 350 kW of cogeneration. Additional energy upgrades included modifications to 200,000 CFM of existing air handling units, VAV retrofits, lighting retrofits and control modifications. |
