M/E Engineering has focused considerable resources to the College and University markets.  In its tenure with higher education design, M/E Engineering has provided a diverse range of services from dormitory design, application specific classroom design, laboratory and clean space design.

Our cliental range from State and Private Universities, small student populations and large, liberal arts to high-tech research and laboratory buildings.  In each case, M/E Engineering has provided our clients with highly constructible designs, which meet their specific needs for both performance and budget.  The following are examples of our College and University portfolio:

  • A wind wake analysis was performed to ensure efficient discharge from respective HVAC system did not have adverse affects on the Campus.

Cornell University - HVAC Studies and Systems Retrofits, Ithaca, NY

  • A complete examination of eight unique laboratory buildings comprising over one million square feet of space.  These measures include changes to the specific operation and control of the laboratory air handling systems and to the associated fume hoods and temperature controls.  Matching the actual occupancy of the building spaces to the operation of the lighting and air handling systems was an essential part of the recommended energy savings measures.  The resulting economic paybacks were used for prioritization.  The recommended energy savings measures will result in annual utility cost savings of 12% to 40% of the various buildings.  A firm understanding of laboratory function and operation were critical to insure proposed improvement measures did not jeopardize occupant safety.
  • These eight buildings represent the first of three phases encompassing a total of twenty-five buildings containing laboratory and research functions.
