Plantations Welcome Center - Anticipated LEED Certified Platinum

Project

The new welcome center is a 7,500 sqft building set in the Botanical Gardens at Cornell University.  M/E Engineering provided HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical engineering design for the new structure.  The welcome center incorporates natural ventilation systems, demand control ventilation systems and day lighting controls to promote sustainable operations.  The new building also incorporates a solar thermal hot water heating system to supplement the primary high efficiency boiler system.  The plantations welcome center is on track to achieve a LEED Platinum rating.
