Design of a new 240 Bed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Schenectady, New York. The facility consists of 200 long-term care beds and 40 rehabilitation beds. The units are arranged in six 40-bed units. Within each unit are two living room areas, and a dining / activities area to accommodate the unit residents. The units are configured in three 2-story wings around a central core area containing shared and support spaces.
Complete design of the mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems for the Skilled Nursing Facility. The mechanical systems include air-to-air heat recovery Variable Air Volume (VAV) system serving the living units and the core area. The hot water boiler plant utilizes high efficiency condensing boilers to increase the energy efficiency of the building. The electrical systems included the design of the low voltage systems including, fire alarm, nurse call, wandering, access control, telephone, IT and cable television. The central core area includes the design of a full commercial laundry and commercial kitchen spaces to serve this facility as well as nearby Skilled Nursing Facilities.
