Monroe Community College - Athletic Field House
Design of a new 55,000 SF athletic facility including a 33,000 SF field house, training rooms, hydrotherapy pool, team rooms, cardio equipment, weight rooms, sports medicine classroom and running track. The facility is attached to the existing athletic facility and served from the central chilled/hot water system. The building is designed as a LEED certified structure.
Complete design of mechanical/electrical systems including air conditioned team rooms/offices/fitness center, enthalpy heat recovery on exhaust air, central heating/ventilation systems with provisions for future cooling of field house, new 4160 volt electric service, field house exhaust/ventilation system and complete sprinkler system.
A 3-D CFD model was created for the field house to evaluate duct layout, diffuser distribution and total air change rates to optimize the HVAC system sizing and layout while minimizing stratification and horizontal temperature gradients.
