We are excited to announce that M/E Engineering has joined Salas O’Brien, effective October 2025. Our offices will remain under the same leadership, and our clients can continue to expect the same team and level of service. As M/E and Salas O’Brien work together, we believe clients will benefit from our combined expertise and geographic reach.
The three-story facility was first new academic building on the campus in 40 years. Filling their needs for Liberal Arts studies the facility contains classroom, lecture, office, common and support spaces. Departments included in the building are English, History, Modern Languages, Modern Cultures, Philosophy and Women/Gender Studies.
Critical teaching spaces below the main building mechanical room required additional design features to be included to prevent unwanted noise from affecting the buildings primary focus of teaching. Also, an impressive display of EE Cummings work required specialty display lighting that was also flexible for display variations. The building was designed with sustainable systems and concepts to benefit the campus which ultimately awarded the project a USGBC LEED Gold Certification.
