As part of Alfred State College’s transition away from its central high-temperature hot water plant, this project involved converting existing boiler systems to fully and independently modulating air and natural gas systems. The upgrade was designed to improve energy efficiency and allow burners to operate effectively at low-load conditions.
M/E Engineering designed the replacement of obsolete boiler burners and integrated the new systems into the campus building management system for remote monitoring and control. Completed on an accelerated construction schedule, this project supported the phased installation of satellite boilers and ensured long-term reliability despite the unavailability of original equipment manufacturers.
