Our offices will remain under the same leadership, and our clients can continue to expect the same team and level of service. The high-pressure steam boiler plant supplies heating and process steam to Buffalo General Hospital, Oishei Children’s Hospital, Gates Vascular Institute, and the University at Buffalo. A new boiler was installed, nearly doubling the capacity of the existing unit within a similar footprint while improving efficiency, redundancy, reliability, and emissions performance.
As prime consultant, engineering services included coordination of structural, architectural, and civil design for boiler platforms, foundations, roof loading, wall framing, and new access infrastructure. The project also involved coordination with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to update the facility’s air permit. System design included the new boiler, feedwater system, stack economizer, controls, test muffler, exhaust stack, upgraded gas service, and blowdown heat recovery for improved energy performance.
