Renovation and expansion of the FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. The combined area equates to approximately 128,000 SF; 76,000 SF for the new addition and 52,000 SF in renovation. The new addition includes a Surgical Suite, Endoscopy Suite, Rehabilitation and Sport Medicine Department and a Dining and Server Area. The renovation consists of a new Kitchen, Administration Services Area, ICU, Cardio Pulmonary, Central Sterile and Lab and Nurse & Hospital Administration Areas.
The addition and renovation occurred in many locations in a functioning hospital; a high priority was placed on minimizing construction impacts in the areas still in use. This included relocating the hospital emergency 480V ductbank and providing a temporary central sterile area while the new OR suite was being constructed. The design accounted for multiple phases of construction in multiple areas of the hospital over two years.
