Perinton Recreation Center - Day Care Center

Project

Addition to the Perinton Community Center to accommodate a new Day Care Center.

M/E Role

HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems design.

Challenges

An indirect fixture was selected utilizing a 400W metal halide light source. Photometric calculations determined the quantity and location of fixtures necessary to produce the required light levels for the two irregularly shaped pool spaces. The lighting system was also designed to provide two levels of artificial light. A lower light level (approximately 50% of full output) was necessary when natural lighting provided a higher ambient light level and for unoccupied periods of the Aquatic Facility. The higher light level was necessary for general facility operation. The lighting control system selected, controls the single lamp and remote ballast of each fixture, minimizing maintenance costs.
