Motor Junction Pavilion

Richard P. Outhouse Memorial Park

Canandaigua, NY

Project Highlights

The Motor Junction Pavilion is a three-season facility located within Richard P. Outhouse Memorial Park in the Town of Canandaigua. Open to the public, the pavilion is fully accessible and designed to accommodate individuals with different mobility challenges. It is part of a larger inclusive playground that encourages play and interaction across all generations and abilities. The facility features a concessions stand, a charging station for electric wheelchairs, and a picnic seating area, with capacity for up to 50 guests.

M/E Role

M/E Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the pavilion.  The facility includes four (4) public restrooms, a concessions area, and dedicated storage space.  The new HVAC system incorporates an energy recovery unit with associated controls and supplemental electric wall heaters.  The plumbing design included new domestic water distribution, electric water heaters, and sanitary, waste, and vent systems.  The electrical scope covered normal power distribution and interior/exterior lighting.  As a three-season building, the systems were designed to allow for efficient winterization and to prevent freezing during early spring and late fall.
