Erie County Medical Center - Center of Excellence for Transplantation and Kidney Care
Design for Hemodialysis Renal/Transplant project including a new 100,000 SF Dialysis/Medical Office Building (MOB) addition and renovations to 35,000 SF on the 10th Floor for a Transplant Suite. The addition was designed as a shell and core with a 36 station, 25,000 SF Hemodialysis Center fit-out on the Ground Floor and 75,000 SF of Medical Office Building (MOB) fit-out on Floors 1 through 3.
A new connecting corridor and infrastructure including expansion of the existing chilled water plant and backup electrical power are also included and designed to provide services to the Dialysis/MOB Center as well as future building additions. A new 37,000 cfm custom air handling unit supplies air to the 10th Floor Kidney Transplant Center providing protective environments for immune depressed patients.
The Master Plan infrastructure upgrades included expansion of the existing Chilled Water Plant with two (2) new 2,400 ton chillers, nine (9) new 800 ton towers, fifteen (15) new chilled water/condenser water pumps, complete plant controls overhaul and replacement of the entire hospital's existing 23 kV electrical substation as well as the addition of five new electrical generators. Utilities were supplied to the new axial corridor for the new building addition as well as future projects, such as a Bone Center and Skilled Nursing Facility.
